First released on vinyl back in 2002, 41st Century Splendid Man returns, five years down the line, cleaned-up, remastered and with two brand new tracks. Sometimes, it's worth the wait, especially considering how this is some of AMT's best material from the early years. Chock full of sci-fi sound effects, pounding, metronomical beats and spectral yelps and screams, this is not for the faint of heart or non-believers. The opening Ruck Zuck (a nod to the early recordings by Kraftwerk) is worth the price of admission alone. The title track is an absolutely mind-blowing excursion into dark, post-apocalyptic ambient territory (my favorite on the album) while Dalai Gama brings the beat and alien sounds back in the mix. The two bonus tracks are quite interesting as well, especially the closing Hell Eskimo Or Polyhedral Mu which starts off with a bang and ends with abruptly with a purr. A must have for all you AMT collectors out there.
