This album (or should I say compilation) has always been a favorite of mine along with Troubadours From Another Heavenly World simply because it's incredibly trippy! I like AMT when they go in overdrive as well (check out Recurring Dream And Apocalypse Of Darkness), but I'll always have a preference for their more psychedelic, meditative tunes. The first three tracks on Magical Power From Mars were first released separately on limited edition 3" CDs with holographic artwork only to later be compiled with an extra track here. This was my first encounter with such a dubious release ethic. It was very frustrating for the fans and is pretty much the moment I gave up on getting everything by the band. I decided to get it again at one of their gigs here in Montreal and I'm happy I waited so long as this version is completely remastered (but does not include any holographic artwork). One of the most spaced-out albums of all time for sure!
