Album Cover

Don't know why it took me so long to get this second album (it's been out for a while) considering how much I loved the first release. A Night Outside is more of Aether Myth'd's own brand of completely baked tribal/folk noise. The biggest difference I can hear between both albums is the emphasis on drone on this album. Some tracks (all are untitled again) reminded me of The Taj-Mahal Travellers' more fucked up moments with tons of delayed sounds and a shimmering atmosphere. Some songs do have a little more bite as the artists add loud percussive instruments and unexpected blasts of noise (check out the eighth track). It's pretty fun to compare some of these tracks with the works of Sunburned Hand Of The Man. Some ideas do reoccur, making it easier to hear where a few sound ideas come from. Anyone into truly psychedelic soundscapes would absolutely hunt this one down as it certainly won't disappoint the psychonaut in you.
