Faulty media: last track missing from CD-R, ninth track corrupted. Recorded under the pseudonym Xe, Jarovizatsija finds Airaksinen exploring and indulging in the noisier spectrum of his sound. The results are quite interesting industrial soundscapes which definitely lean toward the darker side of the scale (he won't be meditating with this record as background music!). As always however, the album is quite uneven; some tracks might sound great, but others are forgettable. The opening Igitur is one of the better numbers on the album with it's Wolf Eyes-like, faulty-tampered-with-dollar-store equipment sound. But tracks like the bouncy Titania (no pun intended) sound quite bland in comparison. If only he could get rid of those jungle/break beats and concentrate on the sounds, this album could have been incredible. Worth hearing, but not essential by a long shot. |
