Album Cover

When an album starts with church bells and a somber drone, you know you're in for a gloomy record. The music is indeed quite bleak throughout the album, lots of drone, but the psychedelic side of the band with it's electronic noises make up in the balance. This sounds a lot like the music of compatriots International Harvester, the tempo is as slow and heavy, but there is a lot more bowed instruments and a strong medieval twist (There Is A Time For Everything [...] and La Rotta for example). One of my favorite tracks on the album is Rings Of Saturn which feels like it is indeed being transmitted from that far out in space. The CD comes with two bonus tracks: 5/4 and Mirrors Of Gabriel, the former an incredible droning jam and the latter, a more dark ambient piece. A really good album if you can get past the cheesy cover art (which might lead one to believe the music inside might not be so original)!
