Älgarnas Trädgård

Here's another bunch of tripped-out swedes to add along with Harvester, International Harvester, Pärson Sound and Träd, Gräs Och Stenar. As is the case with there fellow countrymen, the music is drone-based but it also includes a very heavy dose of traditional scandinavian folk music. Most of it sounds quite funereal and gloomy, not a pleasant trip but definitely psychedelic.

Älgarnas Trädgård released two albums in their lifetime, the first one, Framtiden Är Ett Svävande Skepp, Förankrat I Forntiden was released back in the early seventies on vinyl, but the second one, Delay, also composed and recorded in the early seventies, was never mixed before the late nineties and only released in 2001 (thus the title!). I have purchased this second album, but I really disliked it. It was just way too progrock for me so I sold it almost immediately. Unless I find another copy for much cheaper some day, don't expect to see it here in my collection.
