Another album by Angelblood, another pseudo-metal album. Of course, this is all obviously simply an ode to the whole metal scene without any attempt at sounding like it (but having a field trip with the whole imagery). The album starts with Daggers, a cross between the funkier side of Add N to (X) with the punkiest moments of Stereo Total. Fun, but nothing original. On Come Hither (The Tightrope), Liz Bougatsos (who is a member of the group and who would go on to do far greater things in Gang Gang Dance) has her first shining moment behind the mic. What's this??? A metal riff on the next track??? Unbelievable! Terrorist Bang Bang is the name of the song and Liz's voice is again the highlight. Nice progression too! The Tide Is High sounds like what Angelblood should have been from the start, black metal riffing and creepy vocals and a feminine touch. Why isn't there more of this?
