The further we go back in Animal Collective's discography, the noisier things get. Here Comes The Indian is somewhere in between the harsher and mellower albums. It's definitely one of the weirdest things they've put out! Starting with the stop-and-go, breakneck pace of Native Belle, we know we're in for one hell of a fucke dup ride. Some of these songs sound like watching a feature length anime film for kids sped up to fit within a four minute song. Hey Light, a hyperactive Saturday night hoedown for the insane, is easily my favorite track here. Another highlight would be the Residents-like madness of Two Sails On A Sound. These guys made a career out of music created almost exclusively of false-starts and regular break downs, like a car on it's last breath, and these feature pretty much non-stop on this particular album. So take out an insurance or put on some protective gear before tackling it on. Strangely mesmerizing.
