A short EP which (hopefully) will be enough to satisfy the fans until the next full length is out. Let's just hope it doesn't take another three years this time. As lovely as these five songs are, they are much less extravagant, theatrical and flamboyant as the music found on 2005's I Am A Bird Now. Only Shake That Devil, with it's cryptic lyrics repeated with subtle variations, it's creepy background drone and an unexpected shift towards swing during the second half comes as a total surprise. It's the EP's unquestionable highlight, but there's enough of Antony's glamdrogynous vocals and unique touch on the mellower tracks to have you curl up like a sleepy cat on your bed. It's how the band incorporate alien elements into otherwise smooth cabaret tunes that makes Antony's albums so special. Like the feedback on the title track, the eerie whispers on Hope Mountain, the stop'n'go motion of Sing For Me; it's the "extra" in "extraordinary".
