Usually I am not a huge fan of remix albums, hearing new versions of pre-established "classics" often feels pointless to me. The rare times a remix is actually better than the original are too few to warrant me paying attention and the market is flooded with these things to the point where they feel more like a nuisance. But this is the AFX we're talking about here and although not all of his remixes are better than the originals, his added "twist" is peculiar enough to turn most of these tracks into a fascinating listen. The mass majority of these are pretty straight forward (the opening remix of Seefeel's Time To Find Me has a lovely old school aura to it), while others are completely wild. You just gotta love James' "remix" of Philip Glass' version of Heroes, complete with manipulated vocal samples of Bowie' original. His choice of artists is often quite unexpected as well (why Die Fantastischen Vier?), but the results are never boring.
