Only four songs this time around, but this is easily one of my favorite EPs in the series. The opening Phonatacid is a wonderful, mellow piece which I believe acts as some sort of ode to Kraftwerk (the main melody is quite reminiscent of the german legend's The Man-Machine). Laricheard is an astounding ambient piece which wouldn't have been out of place on SAW85-92. The EP's highlight however is Pissed Up In SE1. I don't know what it is about this track, but it sounds both new and unique, yet very familiar at the same time; like visiting a good old friend after an eternity apart. The AFX does one better than a hat-trick with the impressive Bwoon Dub which closes the EP on a slightly darker note. This closing track reminds me a bit of what a chance meeting between old school Boards Of Canada and Pole might sound like. It's a mystery to me that none of these tracks made their way on the Chosen Lords compilation. A must!!!
