Album Cover

This album comes off as being some sort of collection of odds and ends with no discernible driving force behind it all, no concept, just plenty of experimental bits, acid-tinged drum'n'bass numbers and confusing fillers. And the fact that there are two CDs worth of this material doesn't help making this any more accessible. Some of these tracks sound like John Cage's prepared piano sonatas and others even sound like Satie or Yann Tiersen miniatures which would perfectly fit on the soundtrack to Amelie. There are fun rumors to go along with this release, they are probably bullshit, but would give the album a certain extra quality if they were to be true. It is said that some (if not all of these tracks) are tracks by people trying to pass themselves off as Aphex Twin on file sharing programs. James would then have taken these creations and used them under his rightful name (and why shouldn't he!?).
