An absolute classic by James. It even brought him some international attention from the MTV crowd, not just because of the truly mind-altering video for the song by Chris Cunningham, but by it's use as interlude music for the channel in Europe. The title track for this single (it was not released any other way) is pretty insane: on the one side, it is completely danceable, the claps and non-stop beat manipulation being addictive as hell, but the weird voice samples which only get more and more demented as the song progresses sound straight out of a mental institution! And let's not forget the cathartic outro from hell with it's distorted melody. Insane! But then you've got the second track, which pushes the complicated title trend to it's extreme and goes gung-ho on the manic beats and noises. The final track sounds like a toy-box melody being manipulated in the usual AFX way.
