A classic IDM album all the way through. No true fans of electronica should be without this one as it pretty much made Autechre's career. There is a fabulous flow throughout these two CDs which makes it easy to lose yourself in the music for well over two hours. Tri Repetae++ has gone on to become a standard in the IDM scene; countless artists have tried to imitate or have been influenced by it's intricate details and complex architecture. Unlike the duo's later albums though, these tracks remain accessible and not too alienating even though the mood is always set to austere. The noisy and pounding Second Bad Vibel, easily the most recognizable track among the lot, has even had a video directed by Chris Cunningham associated with it. But there is much more to discover throughout these eighteen tracks. personal favorites include the fuzzy Eutow, Second Scout and the absolutely gorgeous Vietrmx21 which closes the album on a solemn note.
