Album Cover

Eight years of Birchville Kitty goodness condensed into three CDs-worth of music to cover the artist's evolution through live performance. Of course, even though his work is mostly drone, Campbell Kneale's discography is so humongous and varied that it's practically impossible to get a thorough exploration of his progress with only six tunes; however, Curved Surface Destroyer is a good effort. Only Fairy Teeth is representative of his earliest noise efforts (from the Siberian Earth Curve period). The second CD holds two tracks (Zenkoji and Copenhagen) which are both different versions of the tracks appearing on the original limited edition CD-Rs released on Celebrate/Psi/Phenomenon (fret not, this is all unreleased material). You really have to be in the right state of mind to tackle such long, slowly evolving tracks, but with a bit of attention, BCM's work is always rewarding.
