Imagine yourselves those looooong outro jams by Stereolab but without the beat; strip away all funk and add plenty of feedback and you've got Small Christian Victories, a puny Birchville Cat Motel release which will probably go by unnoticed. Unfortunately since this is as good as any of his latest work. It does sound like the music is coming out of three inch speakers, but it gives the track an added warmth. This was perhaps recorded a few minutes before supper time as I seem to be able to make out people speaking at times or background noises. When the drone eventually fades away, we are left with a mess of high-pitched feedback and confusing noise. In other words, make sure your pets are not in the same room when you listen to this one. Not sure how limited this release is.
