The album that would start a legacy. Right from the start, you know you're in for something different. I could only imagine what it was like to put this on for the first time back when it was released in 1970! Rain and church bells, thunder... You check out the cover, the witch-like character staring straight at you with the blackest of eyes. Creepy as fucking hell! The mood is set! And then VLAM-O, the most agonizingly slow, down-tuned guitar riff in the history of rock'n'roll hits you straight in the face leaving you flabbergasted! Some madman is screaming things like "Oh no no no PLEASE GOD help me!!!" Still today it makes me shit in my pants! This was and is still some evil stuff! When the beat picks up near the end, the hairs on your are about to pop out! And this is just the first track! There are many more classics like the heavy-blues of The Wizard or the head-banging inducing N.I.B. Go get, now! |
