I don't believe it's humanly possible to sound as disparate from one track to the other as the Boredoms do here. It's no wonder John Zorn picked singer Eye as a guest vocalist for his legendary noise-jazz outfit Naked City. From tribal surf instrumentals (with short vocal outbursts by what sounds like The Muppets' Beaker) to psychedelic kitchen-gamelan via pure noise-punk explosions with a kabuki soul or even completely off-the-wall scatological madness, this album has everything to please (or piss off) the listener depending on what angle you tackle this album. Surely one can't take this all too seriously even though there are some moments of pure brilliance (well hidden in the rough mind you) on display throughout. The album is approximately twenty minutes long and, believe me, after such an onslaught of aural attacks, it's just enough to leave you some breathing space, muster up some new energy and start all over again. -Ma-Ma-Chine!!!!! MACHINE!
