Similarly to the preceding volume in the "Super Roots" series which was a rethinking/remixing of a Mekons track, this eight volume finds the psych-noise collective once again covering/remixing/destroying/reinventing an already established song. This time it's the theme song to the japanese TV show Jungle Taitei. The first version is probably my favorite with it's pounding tribal drums, thick washes of psyched-up guitars and lovely backing vocals. Eye's remix is much heavier and fucked up with intense drum loop patterns and twisted vocal modulations. The final remix by Yann Tomita will lift the listener on a fluffy cloud as he puts much more emphasis on the angelical vocals (but still keeps plenty of those tribal drums) and the trippy side of the tune. The last half of this track is out-of-this-world and is reason enough to hunt down this short EP.
