The version of Akuma No Uta I have is, I believe, the third version available. It was first available from Japan on CD and LP with a much shorter version of the intro (and different covers!). It was then made available through Southern Lord on a limited edition picture LP and a more widely available CD version with the first japanese, Nick Drake LP cover homage. Complicated, yes, but such is the Boris release schedule! Thank God they decided to leave the intro in it's entirety because it's really good... A slow, yet heavy psychedelic riff for a whole ten minutes! Wonderful! The rest of the album is split up between all the different facades of Boris we've heard so far. Ibitsu and Furi could easily have been included on Heavy Friends, but Naki Kyoku is something that should have been on Flood. Short but great release by our favorite heavy Gods from Japan! The title track is an absolute must!
