2 Long Songs is a showcase for the many faces of Boris. It starts off with the ne plus ultra (and yet to be outdone) doom of Absolutego. The track is shortened to eighteen minutes (instead of one whole hour), but this doesn't prevent the group from making it as gut-wrenchingly painful as the original. This song is followed by Flood taken from the album of the same name. I don't see what all the fuss is about with this album, I personally find it is the group's least interesting album and I can't say I care much for this live version either. The song does get quite heavy at about eight minutes in, but by then, they've already lost me and this whole passionate yelling/singing (off-key too!) just gets on my nerves (the only album where they succeed with this is on Pink if you ask me). All three of these volumes are limited to 600 copies with the first few including a wrap-around cover; my copies come without. |
