I'm so glad I finally bought this alternative version to Mabuta No Ura! I wasn't kidding when I said I would never open the deluxe edition anymore, so all I had were the mp3s and I haven't really listened to those since then. So I don't know what it is about this japanese edition... The different track listing and the flow? The slight differences in songs? Whatever it is, it makes this album sound killer in comparison! I was floored when I listened to it on my headphones, it practically felt as if I was listening to it for the first time. There is actually no such thing as the film Mabuta No Ura, much less a soundtrack for it. Boris were striving to recreate a grandiose, cinematic sound without completely forgetting where they come from and I swear to God, this is simply the most intense and most artistically inclined album by the band so far. Incredible stuff! And the packaging is easily the most stunning thing I've seen from them as well (YEAH! Even nicer than Vein)!
