In the beginning, Boris created the drone and the riff. Now the riff was formless and slow, darkness was over the surface of the grooves, and the Spirit of Boris was hovering over it's frequencies. And Boris said, "Let there be Vein", and there was Vein. Boris saw that Vein was good, and he separated them in two: the riff and the drone. But then Boris got mixed up and called both the riff and the drone Vein and much pandemonium ensued. The American edition of Vein sounds like a hardcore punk band on amphetamines out on a kamikaze mission; the amps are powered by wrathful gods, eliminating all lows, and violating the highs. It's as if Boris are intent on ripping your flesh to shreds with an onslaught of mind-boggling aggressiveness. This is, according to me, one of their best albums since the early years; and to have Atsuo puking his lungs out on all the tracks with vocals is practically manna from Heaven. Only 1100 copies exist.
