Besides the strange Diamond Dogs album, this is my favorite David Bowie record. I love pretty much everything about it, from the hit tracks all the way to the more experimental songs. Beauty And The Beast sounds great, the lowered voice adopted by Bowie fits well with the funky bass-synth and the accompanying choirs. Cheesy guitar solo, but that's a small price to pay for such a great tune. The title track is an absolutely beautiful song and it almost brings a tear to my eye when I listen to it; it certainly sends shivers down my spine every time the guitar comes in. Love it! And what's this? Instrumental tracks (well almost)? V-2 Schneider, Sense Of Doubt, Moss Garden and Neuköln have krautrock written all over them. Part Kraftwerk, part Neu!. Very experimental, repetitive and sometimes warm and ambient compared to what people were used to by Bowie.
