Also known as Brown Reason To Live, the first part of this CD is the Butthole Surfers' very first EP from way back in 1983. The Shah Sleeps In Lee Harvey's Grave was some pretty hardcore shit for the time, grind before Napalm Death. The rest of the EP is divided in two parts, punkish little ditties like Wichita Cathedral or Suicide and 80s new wave "parodies" (or so I would believe) like Hey. The second part of the CD is the early Live PCPPEP recording released in 1984. Some of these songs are from the same EP found here and the Psychic... Powerless.. Another Man's Sac album. These live tracks and the EP sound quite similar and fit quite well together on one CD. Interesting to hear them at such an early formative stage, the punk tendencies would soon give way to more abstract, psychedelic sludge. This CD also includes four previously unreleased bonus tracks.
