After the gloomy explorations of Soon Over Babaluma, Can decide to go the opposite way and put out this psychedelic party album. Full Moon On The Highway has some of the strangest vocals I've heard in the group's catalogue and there are plenty of guitar solos to go along with them! I can't say I get Hunters And Collectors, to me this is an anomaly; it sounds way too cheesy and naive to be a standard Can track. Red Hot Indians is another strange number which sounds cartoon-ish and includes (fake?) african finger piano. Strange. But before you start thinking that Can were trying to strike it big and offer more "accessible" music (and failing miserably), listen to Unfinished, a thirteen minute long excursion into drone, reverb, noise and guitar-fuzz bliss. This tune and Half Past One are the only things that prevent this album from staying on the shelf too long.
