A collection of odds and ends from throughout their career. This was first released on vinyl in a (really) limited edition, but was then re-released with extra tracks under this not so imaginative title. Fun to hear Damo Suzuki singing in his native japanese language on Doko E. There are nineteen tracks in total and most of them are under three minutes long (Cutaway is the only long jam at over seventeen minutes and it is quite the mind-fuck, especially towards the end). A lot of the music on the record is quite experimental, with the E.F.S. (Ethnological Forgery Series) being particularly good. My two favorite tracks are those sung by Malcolm Mooney. On The Empress And The Ukraine King, the bass work is absolutely nuts and has a great thick sound; Mother Upduff is an intense and repetitive tune with an alarm-like quality as Mooney rambles on about the title character. |
