Album Cover

An absolute classic debut (and rightfully advertised as such on the CD re-release). There's not a single dud on here, every track is a classic, from the first track to the last. If that killer bassline during the break on Zig Zag Wanderer doesn't make you tap your feat or bob your head, then you're a vegetable, same goes for the fuzz-guitar mayhem of Dropout Boogie (one of my absolute favorite tracks on this album - that riff gets me hooked every time!). Electricity is also a force to reckon with, this is some weird and heavy stuff; the captain's voice sounds menacing and that theremine really gives the song a weird vibe. This much have confused a lot of people when it first came out (even by today's standards, this might confuse a bunch of you out there). The CD re-issue includes six tracks of pure weirdness (Korn Ring Finger) which hint at later work. A very young Ry Cooder plays guitar on here.
