Oh my this is some dark stuff! Who knew so much beauty, sadness and emotions could ooze out of one person. The opening Second Death is absolutely devastating, it will have you stop whatever it is you are doing and hypnotize you for the rest of the track (writing this very sentence took me over ten minutes to accomplish I was so transfixed). All this achieved with the simple use of overlapping vocals with plenty of reverb and a minimalist two chord guitar melody! Moving Intercepted continues along the same line, but is slightly more psychedelic. It reminded me of some of Six Organs Of Admittance's earlier material (I would kill to hear these two collaborate!). Yellow Pine is pretty much the same song as it's predecessor (the bizarre flanging sound effects are still present) so I like to think of them as one long track. The album is bookended by the poignant Words Are Not My Own. It's not quite as powerful as the opening track, but it's still a beauty to behold.
