I might not be a very big fan of Circle's metal-oriented works, but each one of them usually will include some specific details which I will enjoy. In this case, Tulikoira changes moods quite regularly, hopping from speedy trash metal riffs to all out satanic worshiping ritual music to almost jazzy, Necks-like meditative passages. The opening Rautakäärme is easily the best track on the album. Starting off with a creepy, horror film-inspired drone and chant, it quickly builds up to the main riff: an all-out metal riff attack that would make Suicidal Tendencies proud. But just as soon as you thought that's all we would get to hear for the rest of the track, the tune suddenly slows down to this primitive pagan metal sludge fest complete with tribal drums and witchcraft hymns. Berserk is another such divergent piece, but the two remaining tracks, including the twenty-five minute long "kraut-metal-monster" Puutiikeri, leave me somewhat indifferent.
