Nice moody and wintry moments on this, Chris Clark's first album. The shorter ambient bits and piano bits sound remarkably like the short creations by William Basinski, but these moments are few and very short. Most of the songs have this definite Boards Of Canada, Casino Vs. Japan influence with their thick, artificially aged analog synth work and at times, childish melodies. Besides my obvious love for the ambient tracks (Caveman Lament and Fossil Paste for example), Bricks is a great tune where all of Clark's influence's shine through. The Dogs is one hell of a creepy track with a whole bunch of processed voices (included digitally distorted baby cries). I don't get Lord Of The Dance unless it was made as some sort of parody, too cheesy for me.
