Being a huge fan of Connors, Jim O'Rourke was partly responsible for exposing him to a larger audience by re-releasing In Pittsburgh on CD in the late eighties on Dexter's Cigar (a label he started with Gastr Del Sol colleague David Grubbs with the sole purpose of putting out such obscure masterpieces), so it was only a matter of time before the two would collaborate. The ubiquitous O'Rourke must know Connors' work inside out because the two seem to be a match made in heaven. They both are clearly in tune with each other as these four songs build up majestically throughout the fifty minute set. O'Rourke always follows Connors' lead and never takes center stage (well very rarely), he knows the spotlight is meant to be on Connors and he keeps it that way, laying a solid foundation for the guitarist to build upon. A beautiful (and sometimes intense collaboration).
