Along with Airs, Moonyean is one of my favorite albums by Connors. His playing is so passionate throughout this short set that at times, I truly feel as if his guitar was sharing it's sad life story with me. Similarly to Hell's Kitchen Park, the album alternates between "clean" sounding tunes and the gloomier distorted tunes, but none of these is overtly aggressive (except maybe for the eighth untitled track - none of them have titles). Suzanne Langille once again lends her voice to a few of these tracks, but there are no words this time, only soft chants to accompany Connors' bluesy playing. Track one and eleven are personal favorites of mine, the latter could even have been included on the incredible Airs. A must have for those of you who like Connors' work, but quite difficult to find today. I paid a lot money for my first worn out copy a few years back, but was lucky enough to find a newer copy later on.
