This three CD collection of rare material by Connors is a godsend for me as it will save me a lot of trouble (and money). It includes works from many of his small edition 7"s, split collaborations, private CD-Rs and even some unreleased tracks for a total of almost four hours worth of music. With so many years being covered in the set, you also get a good glimpse of the progression in this artist's sound: from the experimental blues of his earliest years to the beautiful and sometimes noisy space blues of later years. Anyone who is curious about Connors work but isn't sure if he/she would like to start collecting, there isn't any better place to start then with this set. There are even some worthwhile surprises for the hardcore fans (the Battle Of Clontarf suite and those three Untitled on the last CD are incredible). A twenty-two page booklet with extensive liner notes is included. Great work! Bravo! |
