This album is the closest thing Connors has come to emulating his gorgeous masterpiece Airs. Presented in the form of "suites" representing the passing of day to evening to night to dawn, with each suite cut down to smaller pieces capturing the autumnal mood of the time. There's something so intimate about these quieter records, as if the artist is sharing a secret with his audience, baring his soul for anyone to see. All of this with the use of his guitar, some simple reverb and shitty recording equipment. The way he can evoke melancholy so elegantly through improvisation is admirable. It's mind-boggling to me that Connors is still not more widely appreciated, anyone can enjoy these beautiful sounds (even though they might be a bit depressing at times). His music speaks a language that everyone understands and conveys feelings that anyone can relate to. Angelical yet down-to-earth.
