Somewhere between the incredible bleakness of Calloden Harvest and the downtown soundscapes of The Bridge is In Twilight. Unfortunately though, unlike the latter, it has no stable reference point, no specific theme or imagery to hold on to and thus loses it's audience in a sea of high-pitched feedback and loud reverberating guitar drones. Even Calloden Harvest had it's moments, but here Connors sounds as if he is circling around aimlessly, confused, his thoughts elsewhere and his playing reflects this mood. Had the tracks been shorter and organized differently perhaps something could have come out of it, but with these two long and monolithic noise fests all I get is a headache. Track two is slightly better than the first if that's any consolation. This rarely comes out of my CD-shelf as you might have guessed. Well, one miss ain't so bad considering all the masterpieces Connors has released.
