Chris Corsano
A little drummer boy wonder if there ever was one! Corsano went a long way since his days working at the Ecstatic Yod store (I remember him taking care of a few of my orders). Behind the Peter Pan syndrome lies the soul of one of the indie scene's most polyvalent artists. Jazz, rock, noise, drone, pop! You name it, he's done it. From jamming with veteran free-jazz saxophonist Paul Flaherty to touring with icelandic pop nymphetBjörk and everything in between, his CV alone would make a senior CEO's years of experience for a multinational pale in comparison. So why so popular you ask? I have only one answer: "watch him play"! Once you see, you will believe. The man plays his kit as if it were a sculptor's clay. Neil Peart eat your heart out, you've got some strong competition coming at you. No other drummer has made the instrument look this fascinating to me in ages. He makes it look so easy and fascinating that I was almost compelled to buy my own set after watching him play. Enough said, go check it out!
