The whole post-rock thing might have been overdone quite a bit, but it still has it's moments. It seems to be a prerequisite within the genre to play harmonics on the guitar or bass at least on one song, Tortoise did it, Mogwai did it, and so does german equivalent Couch on Plan, the first track to this, their second album. Nothing wrong with that, just wondering, that's all. There are some really nice tunes here when played in small doses (there is such a thing as too much post-rock), Alle Auf Pause for example is a lovely track with great drum work. 12 Sind Nur 4 has this definite Harmonia/Neu!/Cluster vibe to it until the drums and guitars come in two minutes into the song. Doch Endlich makes good use of the quiet/loud dynamic, also a standard within the genre. Nothing really new in general, but a great album nonetheless (who am I to complain when I paid three bucks for it!).
