Album Cover

This is one of the few albums by The Cure that I did not purchase back when I was a teenage fan (budget being extremely limited back then - I had to pick and choose carefully and tried to vary as well). Besides Primary, this is basically the very first time I listen to Faith in my life. The album was recorded during The Cure's minimal, extremely dark period when drugs were rampant in the band. Songs like Other Voices or the title track are extremely gloomy tracks which will have you contemplating on whether or not you should be slicing those veins open tonight. I prefer The Cure when they don't sound this minimal (take away the reverb on Faith and you're left with a pretty skeletal album). I've never been much of a goth music fan either and this album falls squarely within the genre. Still, this deluxe edition is very much worth it, if not for all the extras, including Carnage Visors and the Charlotte Sometimes single; then for it's historical value.
