Album Cover

One of the few, almost exclusively upbeat albums by The Cure, The Head On The Door is chock full of hits (and a few misses). Inbetween Days starts the album off with a bang and is easily my favorite track on the album (I used to play this song on repeat for hours). Synthesizers are much more prominent on this album then they have ever been before and I find that they can at times sound dated (Six Different Ways). One song that gets stuck in my head every single time I hear it (to the point of getting annoying) is Push; not only will I repeat the main guitar riff until I feel nauseous, but I'll be singing about "strawberries and cream" for the rest of the day! Other hits include Close To Me, a candy-coated pop commercial success at the time, and A Night Like This, a powerfully melancholic ballad. As popular as this album is, I find it too uneven to be considered a classic (The Blood and Screw feel out of place in my humble opinion). Lots of extras on this edition.
