Einstürzende Neubauten
Active since the early eighties, Germany's Einstürzende Neubauten are considered pioneers of industrial music. Their earliest efforts are extremely noisy, in the same league as the earliest releases by german cohorts Cluster. The group is famous for using sheets of metal, junkyard scrap or pretty much whatever non-traditional item they could find as instruments. Since the mid-nineties, the group's sound has considerably matured or quieted down much to the dismay of many fans.
The leader of the group, Blixa Bergald, is also a regular member of alternative australian crooner Nick Cave's Bad Seeds. The group is still active today and seem to be interested in recapturing the essence of their earlier experimental outings once again. I have personally never been a big follower of Einstürzende Neubauten, I do enjoy the early works, but never came around to actually purchasing them. I have found a recent album at a very decent price and this is the only reason I have started to collect their albums. More on the way eventually; especially the early albums.
