This compilation of rare tracks by Faust includes my absolute favorite song by the group: the twelve minutes long Munic A (which I believe has also been known under different titles). To me this is the perfect Faust song: it's long, psychedelic, repetitive, it has funky electronic bleeps and burps, the guitar is loud and mosquito-like, the lyrics are silly and it is both scary and funny at times. What else could you want? Stereolab have come dangerously close to emulating this track on their Escape Pod EP. The other shorter tracks on the record are similar to the experimental bits on The Faust Tapes. There is an interesting remake of J'ai Mal Aux Dents and Giggy Smile from the album IV is reprised under the name Psalter on this CD edition. Confusingly enough, a track entitled Giggy Smile is also found on the CD, but it's a completely different track than the one found on IV. Go figure!
