Food Brain
As much as the japanese psych scene of the seventies remains obscure even today, Foodbrain will probably remain one of the most obscure of it's members. If it weren't for Chen Shinki's (of Speed, Glue & Shinki) involvement, this group would probably remain completely unnoticed. Unlike contemporaries like Flower Travellin' Band who blend their blues influences with sabbathian guitar riffs, Foodbrain completely abandoned themselves to the blues and added a lethal dose of psych. The music here is as wild as it can get people! And this is mostly due to the crazy Hammond organ playing and completely fuzzed-up guitar work. The group's over-the-top version of psych is so insane that it's bound to put a smile on your face. And the experimental bits are as amusing as the rock tracks. Who said difficult music had to be boring!?
