Lady Sovereign
What do you mean Lady Sovereign doesn't fit in my collection? Just because a lot of the albums I own sound like a bunch of troglodytes bashing electronic equipement while blowing through kazoos doesn't mean I can't enjoy an uplifting party beat as well! Besides, Lady Sovereign's progression though hiphop and grime have given birth to this very quirky version of the genre. There's plenty of electroclash-like electronica here, rapid beats, a punk attitude and incredible charisma; like a miniature version of Missy Elliott, but raised in London's tough neighbourhoods and without the green (yet - as she proudly announces in one of her songs). It's incredible to think how quickly her career has skyrocketed, but once you've listened to a few seconds of any of her work, you'll understand. She's got an incredible feel for the music and the genre and regardless of her young age, she definitely knows what she's doing. She is afterall, the biggest midget in the game.
