Album Cover

Finally! I found a copy of the very first Child Of Microtones release. I had been looking for this for years and lo and behold, I find it for under thirty bucks on eBay! Basically, it's a miracle! MV Fantasizes [...] is a solo effort from Valentine and as the back of the album states, this is where he "takes off". Most of the music on the album is very much influenced by John Fahey and his twisted, psychedelic and at times experimental approach to folk music. MV will often take two or more guitar tracks he's recorded on the front porch or somewhere outside (you can hear cars at times) and layer them to lift the track off of the the face of the Earth and propel it into deep space. Starting with Travelling With Others, a weird droning folk tune, the music slowly progresses towards hallucinatory regions with Moon Marimba and Space Koto being the most fucked up of the lot. In A Newer Lunar Blues sounds like something Loren Connors might have done. 99 copies.
