Even though this album was released as a Bummer Road record, Matt Valentine and Erika Elder are still among the staff so I decided to include it in the MV+EE section (along with We Offer You Guru and Suncatcher Mountain). Only two tracks on this album, but they are both the long psychedelic jams we've grown to love. They remind me a bit of the "b-sides" from the Heroine Celestial Agriculture Records series. Death Guitars has a very tribal vibe going on, but the bizarre fuzz/wah-wah guitar solo and electronic sounds remind us that this isn't your average ceremonial world music recording. The group environment really pushes the duo's sound into even more outrageously fucked up territory. Once again, as with all Child Of Microtones releases, it is limited to only 99 copies. I was lucky to get a copy as they literally sell out within hours of having been announced.
