When joined by The Bummer Road (which I believe is simply a new name to whatever artists were playing along with the duo at the time of recording), MV+EE focus on whatever influence blues has had on their music. The harmonica's strong presence might be a hint, but the guitar playing as well, when listened to closely, shows signs of the blues (Blues Doctors & The Lord). Don't get me wrong however, MV+EE's tendency to warp their sound beyond recognition makes these influences difficult to grasp. In fact, if it weren't for the choice of instruments used on this and other albums, the music would lose any of it's earthly connotations and be exclusive to the spiritual world (Love Of All Nations could easily have featured on Valentine's otherworldly Ragantula). This album comes housed in a packaging similar to the group's The Uranian Ray and is limited to 99 copies of course. |
