The third installment in the Heroine Celestial Agriculture 'Digital 78's' (all were released simultaneously), is dedicated to the song Candyman. It takes practically two whole minutes before the song even begins on this version. No major differences otherwise, the song remains this soft, almost ambient folk tune with enchanting whispered vocals. When the song eventually does change gears, it becomes something completely different; the original guitar melody only surfacing here and there throughout the twenty-three minute extended jam. This second part is completely fucked up and psychedelic. The first images that came to mind when I heard this were from the sci-fi cartoon classic Forbidden Planet (so you can imagine just how insane this all is). Definitely one of the better jams in the series. The b-side, the relatively short Astral Bowery, sounds pretty tame in comparison. |
