Volume six of the Heroine Celestial Agriculture 'Digital 78's' takes on what I consider to be Lunar Blues' weirdest tune. Those high-pitched vocals will make even the most adventurous musical types frown and scratch their heads. The album version and extended version aren't very different (as was to be expected when considering how they have proceeded with earlier installments in the series); it's only when the second part kicks in (like a drug) that things get really strange. This is as close to true drone and ambient I've heard these two artists come to; besides the occasional amp-buzz sounds, you could easily have this play in the background and forget about it. Lovely, dreamy and completely wasted. The b-side Solo Satan Makes Love is a very noisy, Acid Mothers Temple-like monster psych jam. Intense and in complete contrast to the first track. |
