More psychedelic drug-induced insanity on this second volume of the duo's Rural Ragas series. The name of this series really captures the essence of the MV+EE sound. The folk elements are evident as hints of appalachian folk music and Fahey-styled finger picking form the foundations to most of these songs, but there is also a hefty dose of eastern styling thrown in to confuse the listener and give a decidedly more international feel to their work. On one song you might hear sitar, tamburas or a harmonium with drones taking over an acoustic guitar, or maybe that very same guitar is used to sound like a middle-eastern oud! All this brought to you directly from the duo's front porch. Beautiful exotic sounds to these ears (except Nova which is one hell of a noisy little monster). Limited to 99 copies and, like all three CD-Rs in this series, it comes packaged in a nice thick booklet with psychedelic artwork.
